An innovative approach to logistics problems

The businessman who knew how to make a business out of other people's problems.

The interview with Walter Guerra is scheduled at the beginning of December to avoid his schedule preventing him from being in the city during the photo shoot. He has a trip of several weeks to different countries in Europe and then another to China, where he is about to start operations of a new office of Zenkor Hand Carry Services, the company he founded after offering the hand carry service to other companies.

“Since I was in college, at one point, I had a class in which the subject of hand carry was discussed, and I remember that since then it caught my attention a lot, because of what it represents and how important it is for companies. It is solving a problem that is already there, that exists. From there, without really knowing it, I got the chip and the curiosity to know its implications. I didn't know how it was done or how the business worked or who did it, where and in what situations. Later, life led me to work in companies related to logistics and that is how I better understood what hand carry was and what kind of companies needed it,” Walter shares.

Zenkor Hand Carry Services is a business specialized in transporting urgent materials or documents through a person known as a courier, who travels with them on commercial flights to speed up and optimize delivery times.

Zenkor's services are mainly used by national and international companies that seek to avoid production line stoppages or move documents that are confidential or non-replaceable.

“As a courier, I realized the type of companies that hired the hand carry service, many of these were manufacturers, but I also realized other types of companies related to manufacturers that were not being well served. They were not given the hand carry service or they did not know who to turn to and that is how I focused my attention on this apparently smaller sector,” he adds.

Walter considers Guadalajara a strategic city to carry out his operations. Mexican and foreign companies from different industries have settled there, as well as a talented generation of people who have trained in technology development and other areas that undoubtedly benefit their sector.

“The geographic location and the name that Guadalajara has abroad have allowed me to open doors in other places and to recruit the best possible talent so that the service we offer is always of the quality that our clients deserve,” he explains.

Walter was in companies for several years, while he gained experience and saved a little more, but he always had the desire to undertake, to have his own business.

“I started a business, went back to work, started a business and went back to work again. I did it again and, now with many years of experience, I felt more confident and sure of what I wanted to do with the hand carry service. I had time to analyze, to think about my business idea and to really know what I wanted to offer,” he comments.

Now Walter can not only talk about a successful business, but one that has expanded rapidly to serve companies in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia, where it has other operations headquarters to serve the clients it has on both sides of the Pacific Ocean.
